1) Artifact #1 Explanation: Throughout this entire course, I can say I tapped into my previous modes of writing and expanded my ability to write in multiple ways. For example, for almost every assignment, I used my own codes or signs, highlights, and many times another language, Spanish, in my own rough edition of notes, before converting it to an actual academic document. My thought process began with a bare pen and a blank paper. For example, when we had to formulate our Literature review cover letter (Artifact #1) prior to my translation, it looked this way to the right:

I had random arrows pointing to possible ideas I might use in the cover letter based on the organization of the paragraphs. They weren't very descriptive, but that's how my brain was able to identify it at first.

Multiple Ways of Writing

"Students will be able to integrate multimodality purposefully,

multiple languages and/or multiliteracies into writing products to

support their goals."

After putting these ideas together, my literature review cover letter looked like this below.

The ideas are all more organized together in unison, with better explanations and phrases that connect them all together and make them better understood by whoever is reading the text.

2) Artifact #2 Explanation: As well as using rough drafted versions of writing by pen and paper, I learned a new way of giving context to my research results by creating graphs and figures. This form of writing is known as creating multimodality, and I used multimodality for my Research Paper Result figures 1-3  (Artifact #2) that I had to develop myself. This was perhaps the artifact that took the most time for me to create because it was my first time utilizing these digital design timelines.

As you can see below, figure 2 is multimodality. When I first began designing the timelines, this graph did not look this way whatsoever; it took me perhaps two to three hours to even get the basic foundation of the timeline done and consecutively for the other figures as well. After several times of trial and error, I can say that I successfully created a visual support that explained my words via graphics to my readers.

At this point in the journey, I felt like I was looking at a million pathways to properly keep my journey going up the mountain. I realized that my attention deficit also correlated to the fact that sometimes my brain feels like it's going a million miles per hour, making it hard for me to distinguish what ideas to keep in, what to include where, like seen in my first artifact rough draft, this is how I'm able to rationalize almost everything. It also exerts itself in other ways, like how to organize things properly that makes enough sense for someone to go along with the information I'm providing, like shown in my second artifact, figure two. Successfully, I was able to utilize these multiple ways of writing and create final products that achieved my envisioned results, which spanned from creating digital media modalities to essays.
