Revision

"Students will be able to negotiate differences and act with intentional feedback from readers when drafting, revising, and editing their writing"

For this outcome, all-throughout the semester students were instructed to revise their own work constantly. In order to do this, students would complete their initial drafts of their writing assignments and then partnered with other students who would give their opinions and constructive feedback on what could either be done better, or what certain areas could be improved in general. The revision portion of our essays was kind of hard for me because I needed to start looking at my own work differently. My own way of writing sometimes was not enough and I had to strat looking at my writing form another perosns pesrpetive. Many times I accepted the feedback. For example, for this outcome I am using a feedback from a classmate in my Research Proposal Final Draft (artifact #1) about some changes I could make to my conclusion. While I changed some, I decided to keep other aspects I though that could not be missing in my conclusion.

The second artifact I chose for this oucome was my own edited Literature Review Feedback List (artifact #2).  As well as revising we were instructed to list our own feedback critiquies based on our own opinion and conception of how we thought we should adress our own work. For example, in this quickwrite we had just received our literature review instructor feedback draft back, and we made a list of the suggestions that were given. To me, explaining my gap in my research came before me editing my CARS model introduction. In my mind, If I had not identified my gap from the very beginning then the rest of my research would not make sense let alone edit my CARS moel introduction into my IMRAD research article instead of it being Literature Review. So, I decided to identify my intended gap first, and then it all came together after that!

At this point in the semester I felt incredibly more secure of myself as a writer. In my journey, on the way up, I let go alot of mental barriers and overcame past writing conceptions that I had placed on myself. I was able to change many writing constraints with the resulting ability to complete the ENC1102 Course, produce my very own IMRAD research article, and now create my very own websote portfolio for visitors to read and hopefully relate to as student writers....
